The Learning Farm develops vulnerable Indonesian youth by using organic farming as our main teaching media. Teaching them does not have to be only done within the farm but we keep trying to equip our students with other useful life skills and often get help with this from our kind supporters.
On 18 June 2014, we took 5 of our students from the Advanced Program to the Agricultural Technology Faculty (Fateta) of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) to learn how to make organic vegetable-based noodles. Accompanied by a few staff members, our students enthusiastically followed each step of the noodle making and not just learnt a new skill, but also had a great day out.
We made noodles from broccoli, horenzo, red amaranth, carrots and beet root. They were amazed how every vegetable gave natural colors to the noodles. Not only that, they also enjoyed delicious noodles for lunch! Thank you Ibu Dr. Indah Yuliasih, STP, MSi and the Agricultural Industrial Technology Department Laboratory team for the amazing experience!
